Leaders Under 30-John Saddington

Today we have the one and only John Saddinton aka human3rror.

John was kind enough to sit down with me and answer some questions about leadership.
What you will find in this 10 minute interview is some honest reflections on leadership and the church.

I wish I could have taped the 30 minutes following the interview. But you will have to take my word for it when I say that it was a great conversation about blogging, life, and all things dealing with the interwebs.

Not only does John develop awesome wordpress custom themes, lead a web team at NorthPoint Community Church and blog some goodness each and every day, he has let me crash at his house for the night.

Enjoy this little interview from John Saddington.

RESPOND…
What will the church look like in 10 years? The Same? Different?

Leaders Under 30-Brett Barner

Our profile in review today for the Leader Under 30 series is Brett Barner.

Brett is another twitter friend that has been a regular on this blog (even a guest post), a big supporter of the mentor me project (guest post coming from him on Monday).

Here is what Brett says about himself:
a son of a preacher man, grew up in the church, literally.  (He lived in the missionary apartment above the church.)  Fast forward 20 years, and you’ll find that Brett is married to his best friend, Naomi, and is extremely happy. Now an editor for GodlySheep.com (That’s this blog!), Brett fills his time writing, reading, and trying to keep his Boston Terrier, Benny, under control.

Not only have I enjoyed my time talking with Brett on the blog as well as on twitter, but in our conversations we have had on the phone I have walked away thinking about our conversations and wanting more. Brett is definitely a leader under 30 that is leading by doing. Check out Brett and check out his question for leaders.

Question for leaders from Brett:
What’s your biggest struggle with being a leader?

Leaders Under 30-Renee Johnson

Today, for our leaders under 30 video series, we feature Rene Johnson.

Renee is known as the devotional diva on the interwebs, and has her first book coming out in March. The awesome thing about her book is that it is a devotional for 20 somethings written by 20 somethings. This makes her the perfect leader under 30 to interview about leadership and life.

I apologize for the terrible audio on my part. But, the most important part of the video (the stuff Renee says) works great.
Here are the questions I ask her:
1) Your ministry
2) What you are learning or what is God teaching you right now
3) More about conversation then teaching?
4) What do you see the church looking like in 10 years.

RESPOND:
How are you learning from others?

Leaders Under 30-Tom McFarlin

Today’s Leader Under 30 profile is Tom McFarlin.

Tom lives in Atlanta, Georgia and by day, he is a Christian blogger, husband, friend, and software engineer.

Tom has continued to ask questions, share notes from church each week, and participated in guest blogging as well as commenting.
Tom has a great heart for ministry and has some big things planned for 2010 (ones that he is going to share later in the year, I hope).

Tom

Question Tom has for all Leaders:
You’re never going to have as much information as you could want in order to make the best decision possible, so leaders are often tasked with navigating a lot of uncertainty in order to maintain and/or achieve their vision.
How do you confidently and consistently stay focused while continuing to lead through times or through areas of uncertainty?

Leaders Under 30-Brennan Loveless

Today we feature a good friend (all the way back to 8th grade) of mine Brennan Loveless.
We talk ministry, life, and all things leadership.

Respond to the interview and this question in the comment stream:
What is God teaching you right now?

Leaders Under 30-Crystal Renaud

For our feature on Leaders Under 30 today we are chatting with Crystal Renaud.

Crystal is another twitter friend that has not only impressed me with her writing but also her ministry.
I will not ruin the surprise of what she does nor will I announce some major news that she has and will probably tell in the future, but I will say that you need to check out this video and then go and check out her other stuff.

Enjoy this and then lets take the conversation to the comment stream and interact here with what she has to say.

How do you bring your real life into your blogging and online communication?

Leaders Under 30-Ben Davis

Today’s profile in review for the Leaders Under 30 series is Ben Davis.
Now only does Ben twitter, blog, and work construction, but he also is serves at his church.

Leadership is close to Ben’s heart and you can tell this by checking out his blog and a series he did called “#leadership week”

Ben does a great job of asking questions, participating in dialogue, and providing a safe and open place to dialogue and discuss.
Just check out his about page and you will see that he is more concerned with conversation then about being right.

Here is Ben’s question that he would like to ask all leaders:
why do leaders promote things they don’t participate in themselves?

Join the conversation. Do you participate in things or do you just talk about them?

Leaders Under 30-Scott Clayton

Not only will there be video interviews of Leader Under 30, there will be profiles of what leaders under 30 are doing throughout the United States.
Check out one of my friends in KC, Scott Clayton.

Scott is a graduate of Lindenwood University, with a degree in Christian Ministries.  He’s originally from the St. Louis area, where he was a part of two different church plants.  Scott is the creative arts pastor at Life Connection Church in Kansas City.

One of the biggest ways I have seen Scott lead over the last year is through his twitter stream. He is making a difference in his community in KC, but he is also lifting up the needs of his friends in social media by offering up prayers, asking others if they need prayer, and helping people find jobs.

Question from Scott about Leadership:
Whats the best way to multiply and retain volunteers is?

Check out Scott on twitter or leave him a comment below.
