Dear college me…all the beer wasn’t worth it.  Enjoy playing ball more than you did, because it will soon be gone.

    Dear College Me,

God granted you an amazing opportunity to lead worship up and down the east coast and reach college students. Quit trying to be a rock star and run after the One who you claimed changed your life forever. BTW, thanks for being a moron because God is cool and grants second chances. Now I know how NOT to act.

Dear first year at college me,

Take as many opportunities as you can to learn and lead outside the classroom. There is so many amazing opportunities open to you that might not be so easy to access outside college. Join clubs or teams and be consistently involved.  Fundraise for or promote something you care about. These are the kinda things you will have the best college memories from. Having had some experience leading something or having gone out of your way to learn more or different also things helps a lot when applying for jobs.

You get to meet lots of people. Don’t just settle for a big network of acquaintances, make the effort to develop strong friendships. Be deliberate about spending quality time with your best friends. Time often flies at college and before you know it you will be graduating and you or your friends will likely be heading off around the country or the world. Make the most of the time you have together.

    Love,
    Final year at college me

    Dear College Me,
You have a few friends, but you should make some more.  They’re about the only thing you’ll hang onto from this place.

    Dear College Me,
Don’t let your secular, overly-credentialed professors use the Socratic method to bully you out of your faith. Be ready with answers to their questions, but then demand answers regarding their particular worldview.
