Looking Good?

I hope you see it…look again, what do you see?
No, there is no dolphin in the background or the face of Jesus in Adam Lamberts highlighted hair (is that blaspheme?). All I see is a bunch of fake looking people. Seriously, do any of these people look like this in real life? The best example there is Susan Boyle. Remember when she looked like this. I mean someone did some serious work to get here to look like she does now on her album cover. My favorite example is the transformation that our favorite mother Kate Gosselin went through found here.

Maybe I have missed out on the trend, but it appears that the more eccentric and crazy your album cover gets the more records you will sell.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and if anyone bought any of those albums?

Someone would have to pay me before I would listen to Adam Lambert, no thanks.

Without a doubt. I always fast forwarded on the DVR when he was on American Idol.
I do not think his music career is going to last long.

I've never been into pop music. There are a couple of songs here and there that I like – namely from artists like Michael Jackson – but the modern music scene is pretty terrible. So no. I've not bought any of these albums. Nor will I ever.

The only band I've come close to buying is Green Day and I've not gotten into anything they've done since 1994 or so.

Ya, I have never bough or really listened to any of those CD's
I did find it interesting how all the covers looked and feeled the same.

"I did find it interesting how all the covers looked and feeled the same." Exactly. And it doesn't just stop with the artwork.

If you ever take a listen to the majority of the basic chord structure of some of the current pop songs, they all feature variations on the *exact* same progression. Admittedly, they transpose keys but still – I'm convinced the labels responsible for manufacturing the music simply stick with what sells the most.

It's about money, not the art, and that sucks.

Ya, it is amazing to me to see that this is what represents Pop music which in turn is mimicking pop culture.
I guess we are just putting up a bunch of masks ourselves.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where people "judge the book (or CD in this case) by it's cover…….I'll take a blank CD cover with some David Crowder Band/Third Day/10th Avenue North in it any day, anytime.
