Mentors Need Your Help

Some of you might know that I have been working on a mentoring project over the last month and a half. I have been reading, researching and dreaming what the world would look like if everyone had a mentor (crazy idea I know, but that is what I am going after). I do not want to bore you to death and really want to launch some of the details a little more official. But the Mentor Project is all about using the web to connect online that leads to relationships off line. Picture e-harmony for mentoring (actually do not do that, that is a really bad pun that I tried to make, but it is kind of like that).

Do me and everyone out there looking to be mentored as well as mentor a great favor and fill out this survey below.

A leader of one of my previous community groups is getting ready to publish a book at the end of the year that's very close to what you're talking about here. It's called The 40:40 Principle.

I read an initial draft and it was pretty good. The basic idea is that you have one person under 40, one person over 40, each of which mentoring one another in things they are familiar with the most.

Anyway, though I'd pass it along just in case.

Thanks for encouraging the thought. A mentor for every person! I believe the time is right for a movement around intentional connections. Step one in my opinion is to communicate the problem. People are ultimately isolated and unhappy. Much of life is disconnected relationally or at best shallow. Motto: More time with fewer people = greater impact!
    Let's rant together…
