Most Influential

I saw this tweet from Tyler Braun yesterday:

I naturally went to the link and was a little shocked.
Go and check out who the top 50 Most Influential Bloggers of 2009 are here

Does anyone see something missing? I did right away. Sure it could be that you hardly know who any of those people are, but the lack of Christian bloggers on the list was glaring. The blogs that should be the most influential are not on the list. Sure the people that put that list together could have excluded them or could have never checked out their blogs all together.

What I realized was that I was getting caught up in the Christian Community Blog World. I was more concerned about being influenced and influencing others inside the world of Christian Blogs, while neglecting others that surround me. Not saying that we need to stop reading Christian blogs or hold a blog burning service, but who are we influencing?

Thoughts?

All too often I feel, and I'm say openly here – that we hang with-in our own little circles, the church is it's own little clique if you will. We have our own inside talk that we sometimes hint at when we post to our blogs or send up tweets. When looking at this list, it covered everyone who is hard to not mention on a list of bloggers.

I guess my first question would be "Most Influential" according to who? It's obvious to me that this guy is on the inside of the IM (internet marketing, i.e. How to make money online) crowd. I fully understand the heart of the post, and I love the questions that have to be answered therefore. How are we reaching out to outsiders, or people who are not in our clique?
