Question(s) for You

Sunday provides us a day to relax, reflect, and refuel. On Sunday’s I like to sit back and ask a couple of questions. Maybe it sounds a little like those awkward games you play with people you do not know so that you can get to know each other better.
Lets just call it Question(s) for You.

You can answer them all or just one

1) What makes a good coffee shop?

2) What kind of calendar do you use and why? (digital or written)

3) Do you play the games on Facebook? If so, which ones?

Answer them all or just one….these are questions for you.

    1) Good atmosphere, free wifi that works, great hours ( i like the 24 hour ones), bottomless cups of GREAT coffee, and depending on my mood, live music. My favorite coffee shop is in Austin. It’s called mozarts and has all these things, and a great view of the water. :)

    2) I don’t use a calendar. Im the most disorganized, spastic person ever. Calendars and I have never mixed. In grade school I would get in trouble for not using my planner.

    3) Facebook games? no thank you.

I want to go to that coffee shop. Open 24 hours and bottomless cups, my kind of a place.

    1) Coffee and community. I always love hanging out at the St. Arbucks by my house because “everybody and their mother” goes in there… and they sell coffee.

    2) Google Calendar. I invite my wife to events without even having to talk to her about it first. No really, we used to have to sit down and go over dates which can be torture. Now we just enter it in our phones and the calendars remind us both of what’s happening.

    3) I deactivated my facebook last night. I didn’t play games even when I did have an active account.

wow, well at least you and your wife are on the same page…literally.

    1. good coffee. if i need free wifi, i can go to sbux, but good coffee is a rarity. i need a barista who can make foam like the top of a lemon meringue pie.

    2. I have 3 calendars. a dry erase one on the frig (for the whole family), one with nice pictures of miami (we don’t write in this one), and my google calendar (which is synced with my wife’s google calendar/blackberry/icalendar).

    3. no games on fb. most are completely blocked. zynga will have to find another sucka.

    good questions kyle.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

ha, they have sucked me in.

And I am a big fan of the whiteboard calendar. Have not gotten back to it in a while, but I need to get back in the game. Google cal is the absolute best. love that it syncs with everything.

  • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

    1) Coffee is important, but someone like me who spends hours in a coffee shop I am more concerned about free refills. Give me free refills and good wifi and you have my heart.

    2) Google Cal is where it is at. I use to do mobileme sync but said “screw you apple, I am not paying 100 bucks a year for this” google call hook me up.

    3) I never did before and honestly hardly was even on facebook, but the college campus espn game has sucked me in. Absolutely taken over my life. I have spent more hours on facebook in the last two weeks then I have in 2 years.
If you are on there let me know, I would love to be your friend so I can get some campus bucks.

    1. Spaces both for individual working (privacy) & spaces for meeting (also mild privacy so personal conversations can still happen. Oh, and coffee that isn’t horrid.

    2. My wife and I sync our ical stuff with our phones, computers & ipad. Helps us schedule stuff without having to check with each other before any decision.

    3. Facebook games = lame

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

seems popular to sync everything with your wife :) good idea

  • http://bahava.wordpress.com Katy

    1. big, comfy, cozy chairs, free wifi, tasty coffee and happy workers.
    2. mostly i just use my head for my calender :) but i will put things on iCal or on the big one i have in my room or in my phone if I’m feeling like it.
    3. nada. haven’t really gotten into any or really wanted to, but i do get sucked into games if i get started :)

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

seems like you have the perfect coffee shop in mind.

  • Ryne

    1) real mugs, art and crappy furniture.

    2) google

    3) noooooo. remember pure, innocent Facebook w/o apps?

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

real mugs is where it is at

    1. free wifi, decent temperature in the coffee shop, great tea options (I don’t drink coffee), and plenty of seats.
    2. I use a written calendar. I’m a visual learner so I need to see and write down what needs to be done or what events I have during the week. I wouldn’t survive without my calendar and to do list!
    3. I avoid all facebook games.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

I am a task person, so being able to check things off my list is huge as well.

  • http://felizadriana.wordpress.com Adriana Féliz

    1) free wifi & dim lighting
2)google… sometime. Most times Ill just use my mirror as a dry erase and write events and dates on it.
3)Never have… not sure how they work either.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

Dim lighting? That would put me to sleep

  • http://joannamuses.com Joanna

    1. Cheap but good coffee and hotchocolate, comfortable seats and free (but secure) wifi.

    2. I use awesome note on my iPod touch. I use my iPod touch because I always have it out whereas a paper diary tends to get forgotten in my bag. Digital diaries can also be backed up in case the device gets lost.

    3. Don’t play any of the games.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

is that possibly…cheap but good coffee

  • http://shelbyisrad.wordpress.com Shelby

    1. Yummy blended espresso drinks, wifi and comfy seats. and real mugs make my heart so happy but no place around here uses them.
    2. My planner gets written in when i pull it out the first 5 mins of class… then it sits in my book bag until my next class and i never remember to get it out during the rest of the day so its kinda useless… i’m trying to figure out something better.
    3. I have played them in the past but i get bored with them quickly

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

I remember in college and high school I would sit there all class period working on my planner. Counting down days to when school was out and other events, mapping out each day. I was obsessed with that thing, but also very bored.

      • http://shelbyisrad.wordpress.com Shelby

yeah i use it in class like every time and i right everything down, but i never open it up outside of class lol

        • http://shelbyisrad.wordpress.com Shelby

          write** oops
