Sunday provides us a day to relax, reflect, and refuel. On Sunday’s I like to sit back and ask a couple of questions. Maybe it sounds a little like those awkward games you play with people you do not know so that you can get to know each other better.

Lets just call it Question(s) for You.

You can answer them all or just one

1) Do you have a favorite T-Shirt? What does it look like?

2) Do you have a major prediction for 2011? Maybe an event, a new product, or a sports team championship prediction?

3) What was the latest book you have read?

Answer them all or just one….these are questions for you.

    1. I have a few favourites. Most of them are not favourites because of the design but because they are from an event/conference so have sentimental value. One I love that isn’t an event shirt is this one http://www.etiko.com.au/men-s-printed-tshirts/love-revolution/w1/i1002983_1002967/

    2. Politicians will complain about stuff.

    3. I just finished Rebublocrat by Carl Trueman. It was fantastic.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

What is that book about? Sounds interesting.

      • http://joannamuses.com Joanna

It is about the inconsistencies and problems with “Christian” politics of both the left wing and right wing varieties. It also deals with some of the unhelpful ways Christians engage with politics and the media.

        • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

that is what I thought, sounds very interesting

Wow number 2, so profound. ;)

    1. I have a few favorite t shirts, my two needtobreathe shirts (of course), and the t shirt from my first ever concert, Boys Like Girls, though i don’t listen to them anymore the shirt is cool. I also really like my transformers t shirt.
    2. Umm no, no major predictions. I’m not big on predictions lol
    3. I just finished The Last Song, and Safe Haven… both books by Nicholas Sparks, and I just started Pride and Prejudice, and The Vampire Diaries (which I’m not really liking but I cannot not finish a book) I am also reading some Shel Silverstein poetry… and I have a few books waiting to be read too. :)

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

You really like your Gorky books huh? Surprise twilight wasn’t in there :)

      • http://shelbyisrad.wordpress.com Shelby

        haha yes.
i read twilight ages ago. long before the hype.
I actually really don’t like the movies at all. they sucl

  • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

    1) indeed I do. Well I use to have a shirt that was black and said “30? I demand a recount” but it has gone missing. So my new favorite shirt is black and has some horses on it that says “let them be, wild and free”

    2) major prediction, Brett Favre will retire :)

    3) last book I read was called U2: the story behind every song. Loved it

    • http://www.cartoonrebellion.net Jenny

those shirts sound rebellious. :) But U2 is the best, i bet that was a treat to read. I did a poetic reading of “Peace on Earth” for a oral interp class a couple semesters ago and had to give a background of it. That book would of been useful- will have to check it out.

    • http://shelbyisrad.wordpress.com Shelby

I like the sound of that black shirt

    1) Toss up between my teenage mutant ninja turtles shirt and an old shirt that my mom always used to want to throw away- a teal “Bike Iowa” shirt my dad wore back in the late 80’s/ early 90’s when he went on a ride across Iowa. Its oversized, has a permanent funky, mildewy, stale coffee smell that has just become comfortable- i highly doubt ill ever get rid of it.

    2) Eh, 2011- prediction is that donald miller will marry me. just kidding. I dont know, i think my hope is for the cowboys to have another crappy season (it helps with traffic) and for the rangers to win the world series… i like the underdogs. But i do hope 2011 will bring me many opportunities to attend conferences, im going to take advantage of my airline pilot father this year for sure.

    3) Other than school books? Father Fiction by Donald Miller- really good stuff. I took a young adult literature class last semester and got to read some interesting books- rereading Salinger’s The Catcher in The Rye was such a joy. Oooh I’ve also been reading poetry lately- Billy Collins is a beast.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

I read that book when it was titled “to own a dragon” very good stuff.

  • http://www.prudychick.com Prudence

    1) Do you have a favorite T-Shirt? What does it look like?
    It’s probably black.

    2) Do you have a major prediction for 2011? Maybe an event, a new product, or a sports team championship prediction?
Is going to be awesome. Not sure why or how, but it’s got to be right?

    3) What was the latest book you have read?
East of Eden. Was amazing. One of the best books I’ve eve read.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

      who is that book by?

      • Matt

John Steinbeck wrote East of Eden and I agree that it is amazing.

    1. A RevIITen Shirt. They are a band from southern ohio that a former kid in my youth group is the lead guitarist. He can literally melt faces.

    2. Reds will win the NL Central. #lol

    3. I’m almost done with A Million Miles by Don Miller. I got sidetracked and haven’t read in a few days.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

your prediction is terrible…but will probably come true

  • http://www.Twitter.com/Jennivieve Jenn

    1. Favorite tee shirt? It’s a plain grey tee that says JENN across the front in burgundy letters. Funny story…. I was counseling at camp one summer and one of the other counselors was across the food table from me, serving his plate. He looked straight at me, then at my shirt, then he said, “So you and your co-counselor have the same name, don’t you? How do you spell it?” He turned BRIGHT RED a few seconds later.

    2. Prediction for 2011? The Obama Disenchantment will continue to escalate. Also, I’ll be moving to France for a year.

    3. The latest book I’ve read? “Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands” by Paul David Tripp. (People in need of change, helping people in need of change. Really practical book on discipleship. SO worth the time spent reading it.)

How do you come up with your questions? Do you have a master list or something? They’re always interesting!

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

France…now that is exciting. I would love to go to France

  • http://dontcloseureyes.tumblr.com Alicia

    1. Favorite t-shirt… actually, interestingly enough, it’s my “Gordon Alumni” college t-shirt. Not because I’m part of Gordon Alumni, but because it’s super comfortable and has a cute sailboat on it. Wow, dorky.

    2) Major prediction… oh man. As far as I know the world is going to end in the next week (Praise the Lord get to be with Christ how chill would that be?!) … so… no predictions from me. Doesn’t James say “yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring”…

    3) Latest book.. well literally, the Bible. I completed my One Year Bible reading plan at the end of 2010 (mehh, a few days early). Latest other book is probably “Just Do Something” by Kevin DeYoung. Or The Radical Reformission – Mark Driscoll.

    • http://thoughtsaboutnothing.com Kyle Reed

awesome that you were able to complete the one year bible reading plan. I have done that a couple of times and it is great.

  • Matt

    1. My favorite T-shirt is charcoal gray and it is blank.
    2. The world is not going to end on May 11, 2011. The Phillies are not going to win the World Series.
    3. Churched by Matthew Paul Turner.
