I just need to get away from it all and go to Buffalo Wild Wings and have dinner with a friend you haven’t seen in 3 months.

Remember God has a plan even when, especially when, it doesn’t make sense (its been one of those kinds of weeks).

Ya that is always something that I have to remind myself of

  • Tom

    …sit and listen to music.

With modern technology, it’s pretty easy to listen to music while working, while driving, while running, while doing practically everything.

It’s becoming a rare thing to just sit and listen, but when I do, I lvoe it.

    • @austinklee

I would add, sitting and listening to an album from beginning to end. No one does that anymore.

      • Tom

I’m with you. I do this. Honestly, I did it a lot more in high school than I do now but I’m trying to get back to it.

Random aside: I’m totally looking to get a vinyl player for our house. I’d love to have a good collection of 60’s and 70’s music that are on vinyl.

My parents have an amazing collection – it’s the reason I actually got into music and instruments – and I don’t really wanna lose that kind of experience. Would love to eventually bring my kids up on it.

That’s really cool. I grew up with that. When I was 5 & 6 years old, I sat there with my Mom’s records listening to Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, etc.

Thing that sucks is it is hard sometimes to find good stores that have a bunch of options for vinyl. When I lived in Joisey, there was this great place in Princeton that just had tons of stuff, but not many of them exist. Though I suspect in the Atlanta area, there should be a few places.

I love albums that tell a story and to get the story you have to sit there and listen to the whole thing.
That is probably why I love Crowder so much.
Listen to A Collision all the way through or for that matter Illuminate, they tell a story from beginning to end.

        • Shellie (baylormum)

Illuminate was my fav until Remedy came out. And the beginning to end sound on Church Music is growing on me.

I really miss seeing them at ubc, on those parent weekends since daughter graduated & moved to Austin.

Albums are always better to listen to than just select songs!

  • Brett Barner

…Go outside and play basketball (or golf). Pretty much just the “go outside” part that does it for me.

    • Kyle Reed

I would love to play some golf right now. Perfect weather for that.

  • Andy Rhea

…close the door and sing and stum the guitar to no one but The Father.

    • Kyle Reed

I wish I could do either of those. I can dream about it.

      • Andy Rhea

i’ve a gravatar and everything now! so legit.

  • Josh

cuss and move on with your day….He knows I said it in my mind anyways. :)

    (rough couple of weeks…meh.)

  • Patrick

get outside and go for a walk or a hike. Just being surrounded by God’s creation helps clear my head.

  • Shellie (baylormum)

to use some of the silence of the day for listening.

  • Grant Jenkins

    unplug it all.
    be with a good friend.

  • Jordan Watson

Sometimes I need to…. do just exactly the same thing. In fact, I took three days off this past week from my job, email, blogging, social media, and even my phone. Spent the three days with God and my soon-to-be wife!! Best three days in awhile. Great thoughts Kyle Thanks for sharing with us.
