VLOG: Actively Revealing Our Sins

Kyle Reed // @kylereed

Weakness and Defects are two things that we do not want to talk about when it comes to look at our life. But could it be possibly that those are the two things that God is calling us to reveal?

John 3:18-20

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

What resonated with you from this passage?

Love this post! God is currently bringing so much into the light from my own life… I guess the big thing he is actively revealing to me right now is how much I don’t really put faith in him and how many decisions I make out of fear. I struggle with really putting my faith in him and his power, rather than just relying on my own efforts. I’ve been thinking A LOT this week about what Pete Wilson said in his message last Sunday, “What would you do if you were absolutely certain that God was with you?”

Dude. I’m glad you’ve expanded on this. I’ve been thinking about it since you brought it up at stretch tonight. If you’re still down, I’d love to chat more about this tonight.

I love that you included that we reveal our weaknesses, just for the sake of having them in the light, but to show others who is actually transforming our lives.

Thanks for this, Kyle! I actually couldn’t watch this video because it’s so early and I am right next to my sound-a-sleep husband. Can’t find the headphones. Too tired (lazy) to get up and look for them!

I think that being transparent and admitting your flaws is so important–especially when you’re referencing God. I think people let their guard down and are more open to receive your words when you say, “Hey, I kind of suck in this area..oh and in that area, too, but God loves me anyway. He also loves you.”
