What Sheep Have Taught Me About Getting Things Done

Kyle Reed // @kylereed

Let us get one thing straight. We are all dreamers.

Dreamers about a bigger brighter future.
Dreamers about how things could be.
Dreamers of great new ideas and products.
Dreamers about how things should be.

Everyone dreams….but only a very few do.

Everyone dreams at night, few dream during the day.

That summarizes a conversation I recently had with a dreamer. Learning that many are filled with dreams, but very few wake up from those dreams and make them a reality. It is easy close our eyes and fall into a metaphorical world of things that we never thought possible. But it is a human mystery to figure out how to make those unrealistic ideas a reality.

I am convinced that in an over-saturated world of dreamers (just go and look at people’s twitter bios) the people that will be looked upon as dreamers are the very ones that choose to dream during the day.

So lets stop calling ourselves dreamers and start calling ourselves doers

What is a dream of yours?

Finish my book is up there. But my biggest dream is to be part of a movement. A movement that changes lives. A movement that my son can be part of. And I’m doing what I can to help initiate that.

    Powerful post, Kyle.

I have a few dreams that I am actually working on – starting a marketing business, writing for pay and impacting young people around the world.

Thanks for the reminder and encouragement, Kyle. One of my many dreams is to provide children with reading eyeglasses who are unable to afford them on their own. It is interesting to see how a dream such as mine has evolved and progressed from a thought to numerous actions to (slowly) become a reality. I have found that dreaming without action is not an adequate replacement for the dream itself.
