What is the WWDC? No it is not this stephen?
The WWDC is the WorldWide Developers Conference that is held each year in June. This is the conference that has had minor little announcements like the original Iphone, iPhone 3 and 3g, and iPhone 4. Also announced was the iPad, new MBP and other such fun.
It is mecca for all apple fan boys and girls.
Part of the fun that surrounds the WWDC is the predictions and anticipation of what is to come. The interesting thing about the WWDC is that Steve Jobs opens it up with a keynote that is filled with major announcements. Dressed in his jeans and black turtleneck, Jobs is famous for going through the keynote in samurai type focus and then ending it by saying “one more thing” and then dropping the bomb on the technology world.
Today I thought it would be fun to try and predict some of the things that could be announced.
Yup, rumor has it that robots have been in the works for a while now and with the health of Jobs sometimes as unstable as the economy, the likely successor to the throne would be a robot that has the Steve Jobs starter kit and dark rimmed glasses. But these robots are not just for Steve Jobs, they are for personal home use. Release date still pending, these robots, or as some have called them “iRobots”, will do the dishes, take out the trash and even respond to emails. They are the next step into apple taking over the world.
2. Cloud Computing
A lot of buzz has been made over Amazon cloud service and the potential that it has to change computing. But apple wants to take it a step further. This year they will be introducing iAngel. This service will be a cloud computing service that comes with a brand new MBP and a literal cloud to sit on while you work. Yes, nothing says progressive technology then sitting on an actual cloud looking down on all PC users and having the chance to have the latest and greatest in clouding technology. This will ship later next week and will cost $yoursoul to purchase.
In a move to pay respect to the founding fathers or paper and pen, apple is set to release the iSkin. A moleskin like notebook that allows designers, developers, and accountants everywhere to get task done, take notes, and look studios. The iSkin will feature graph type paper, a slick black cover design, and tear out pages. It will ship in mini, pocket, and notebook size and will be available the first of July.
Oh, one last thing:
So these are my predictions for the WWDC2011.
Be sure to tune in at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern to see my predictions come true.
